Cost-Benefit of precast Morton concrete post bases on a pole frame vs. a pole barn on a standard 4'x8" foundation with Sturdi-Wall Drill set brackets

That makes sense. Keeping the building square when you already have a foundation and you're DIYing does seem easier than setting posts by yourself.

Cost-Benefit of precast Morton concrete post bases on a pole frame vs. a pole barn on a standard 4'x8" foundation with Sturdi-Wall Drill set brackets

The X-Frame in the corners makes sense for added strength. The plywood would add added bracing as well. We decided on sheeting the roof with 5/8s OSB because Morton said that spray foaming directly onto the tin under the roof would void their paint warranty, which is one of the big reasons to...

Cost-Benefit of precast Morton concrete post bases on a pole frame vs. a pole barn on a standard 4'x8" foundation with Sturdi-Wall Drill set brackets

One thought we had is that the MQS built barn might need OSB sheeting on the outer walls in addition to the purlins in order to add strength against a strong wind, as it doesn't have the strength of the posts in the ground that the Morton would have. Sheeting on the side walls adds additional...

Cost-Benefit of precast Morton concrete post bases on a pole frame vs. a pole barn on a standard 4'x8" foundation with Sturdi-Wall Drill set brackets

Hello, We are building a 66'x96'x16' calving shed that doubles as a machine shed in the offseason in Montana. 4/12 roof pitch. Roof is sheeted with 5/8s OSB under 26 gauge metal on both quotes. It would be a pole frame building with posts set 8' apart. We want a dirt floor for the cows, but...

    Disappointing Wright ratchet warranty experience

Proto mailed me 3 ratchet repair kits with no questions asked about 9 months ago. I sent them photos of the the decades old 1/2 inch ratchets and one 3/8s ratchet and they asked for my shipping address. They did ask me to send a stripped Allen socket in before they'd replace it, which I thought...

    Proto Universal Impact socket warranty?

Thank you all for the replies. The adapters and thin wall sockets have "non-warrantied item" or something like that stamped on the side. For the price and quality of those items, I'm fine with that. The universal adapter I have does not have that stamped on it. However, given the Proto warranty...

    Proto Universal Impact socket warranty?

Hello, Can anyone confirm if proto universal/swivel impact sockets have a warranty? I have a Proto impact swivel adapter that has held up extremely well and unlike my Proto 1/2" drive to 3/8" drive adapter, it does not say "non-warrantied" on the side of it. However, I've read that Proto does...
