Hi, My friend recently picked up this set of what looks like brace and bit style tools. Can anyone help identify what exactly they are and about how old? Thanks in advance.

I run a MM252 with a 30A spool gun, it's a great combo. On the TIG side I have a Syncrowave 250DX which also covers stick welding. IMO, save up the $$ and get the 252/30A setup. Once you get comfortable with it, your hobby might just become a good paying side job.

Have you checked the polarity on your machine? If running straight flux core, you need to be set up electrode negative. Running electrode positive with FC is a guaranteed mess.

What about a step of expanded metal? Could be either flat or you could wrap a section of the pipe for traction.
