Help ID these tools?

Hi,

My friend recently picked up this set of what looks like brace and bit style tools. Can anyone help identify what exactly they are and about how old?

That looks like a case of tools my Grandfather left me for working on an old Ford. They aren't the same as mine but I'll bump the thread.

Almost looks like it would be a chamfering tool for circles. Where do the shafts join into the disks, assuming on the side we don’t see? The 2-1/2 and 3 pieces top right, are they exactly that size at the tip, or the base, or somewhere in the middle. Those sizes seem too big for car valve stuff. The bells, center left, seem like they are for centering you in a hole, and the working larger below a surface ( like in an engine cylinder with the head on) which seems really odd.

The teeth look like they move vertically in the disks, is that depth fixed, variable, or does it change while in operation?

Cool whatzit tho, hope someone knows.

I didn't want to chime in because I wasn't totally sure, but they look like valve seat cutters to me.

I agree they look like valve seat cutters, likely for cutting brass seats (think plumbing) I would guess as they look to be hand operated.

I think you guys got it. A google search brings up some similar looking tools for plumbing.
