    air compressor tank bung

I had a friend solve this for me. He heated each bung very hot with MAP gas then soaked the thread area to cool with PB Blaster. Repeated 3 times, used an entire fresh can. Burning PB has pretty unforgettable smell, we'll both probably die of lung cancer. Then he used his 3/4 in drive...

    custom auto AC lines

Cold Hose has no elbows except for condensate drain lines that I can find. I will need 90, 180 and possibly 45 elbows because I cant bend anywhere near tight enough without wrecking the tube. I've read of people taking a straight tube, capping one end, filling it with sand almost full, cap the...

    custom auto AC lines

Asking for help here, so if this is in the wrong forum, slap me around and I'll move it. I have a well-sorted 4X4 with a swapped engine (it started life as a I-4 and now has a V6). The time has come to try to reanimate the AC, but of course the fittings on the correct V6 compressor are very...

    air compressor tank bung

So I have a old (circa 1988) Sanborn compressor with 80gal tank. The tank has 2 - 2" dia bungs, each with a cast plug screwed in. These are leaking significantly, but have rusted themselves in place. A 3/4" drive ratchet with a 3' DOM tube as a cheater will not budge either of them. (Aside...

Rebar in Concrete for Two Post Lift.

Just make sure you dont put the rebar where you're going to hit it with the drill for the post mounting bolts. Yes, you can drill through the rebar...usually, but it defeats the purpose of the rebar and really shortens the drill bit life.

    Compressor after cooler

The one I made so many years ago (pics in post #87) is still going strong, even after a move across state lines.

    Compressor after cooler

Really? Might want to ask the folks who created Napster and other music/video sharing sites about their experiences in that area. They might have a different perspective. Course I dont have the bottomless pockets of the attorneys of the MPAA or RIAA to pursue the issue. Copyright is just...

    Compressor after cooler

Pipsters, I really dont appreciate you cutting those images out of the PDF tech article I wrote several years ago and using them like that. The *least* you could do is source them, but the proper thing to do is to link back to the document. Those two pictures were taken by me, and they come...
