    Repairs to #4 Gray Vice

Yah, but like i said the bottom piece that broke off is AOL. Big thanks to jeremymanning. Called the number and the rep said go to any Gray distributor (edmonton nut and bolt) and all the parts are listed in the back of the catalog. Sure enough, there they were... to the surprise of the guy at...

    Repairs to #4 Gray Vice

OK, the broken piece actually was quite easily removable but now what? I tried searching on the net for replacement Gray parts but no luck. When I inherited the vice the 'anchor' part that was snapped off the piece in the picture was missing. Any ideas who or where to contact would be great. Thanx.

    Repairs to #4 Gray Vice

Not a big deal. I already have a nice record on my bench, just thought I could rescue this one and fix it if it was worth it. I'll check tomorrow to see if the nut is removable or not. Thanx.

    Repairs to #4 Gray Vice

Are their parts availale for this vice? Actually it just looks like the one piece thats broken and the removable jaw pieces are missing. Was I wasting my time by rescuing this from the steel dumpster I dug it out of?

Imake tons of cash following these guys around and repairing their screwups. And the outcome is usually more $ in the long run. The lowest quote is NEVER the cheapest.

AC Experts... Is this highway robbery?

I keep seeing this and now I want to address it. Pulling and "holding " a vaccum is NOT a leak test. You leak test a system with nitrogen before you vaccum. Leak testing via vaccum (if there is a leak) will pull air into your system, the same thing that you want to keep out. Air contains...

    Folding Work Bench

Well, got the bench finished. Actually it was done last month but I took off to Cancun for a while and dove into some other projects that I had kept putting off so here it is. I compiled ideas from all the guys that had built theirs and come up with... well something along the same lines. I...

    Mini-split A/C Shopping...

I'm an HVAC mechanic in Canada and was curious when i saw this thread as I have been installing more and more LG splits lately, actually just finished another course last week. You seem pretty determined with all this. Never like to see homeowners playing with high pressure systems tho. The new...

    For the vice guys

Local guy has this vice for sale but no info. I emailed him for size, etc but haven't heard back yet. Curious if any of you vice guys could tell me anything about it from the picture. Thanks

Retarded NOOB question... 21x21" garage with large attic - Insulation?

Not sure if just adding insulation is going to raise your temp. Is there a vapor barrier in the walls? If not I would add one because if you ever add heat it will be necessary or you will develop moisture issues. I paid to have my ceiling blown in. Took them about 1/2 hour and cost about $75...
