Great Read! I have boxes on top of box of aircraft rivets in every size possible and was wondering how to use them. A aircraft repair shop went out of business and auctioned everything off. There was a vise I wan't and I bought 10s of thousands of them in the lot. Same with specialty bolts/screws.

Yes. I had a cheap china punch bend in my hand earlier in the week and figured it was time to finally buy the set. $29

Yeah, I have Wire wheeled whole vises as well. Just did a Morgan last week. But I had a Starrett and a Fuller media blasted before in the past. I picked up a sand blasting cabinet for $15 the other day so trying to figure out a good all around media. Seems like Glass bead is what most people use...

I was thinking glass bread also. Now its a matter of trying to find a local source for some. interesting, so I take it that you just wire wheel everything else?

For the guys that media blast their vises. What type of media are you all using?

I'm glad I searched and found this thread. I just picked one of these up from a guy for $15. It was missing the gun so I bought a CF one off Amazon for $15. Good info in here. I'll have to look into new lights and good to know about the **** media at Harbor Freight. I almost bought some today.

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Today I finished setting up my CH 60 Gal compressor. Did the hockey puck feet like other suggested.

Finished cleaning up my Morgan. Not sure what to do with it now. Maybe trade it. Before: After:

Picked up a 4'x4' Steel work bench/welding table on steel casters for $25. Also picked up a HF Sandblasting cabinet from the same guy for $15.

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Thanks guys for the tips. I'll have to give that a shot. Wasn't sure just by looking at it if it would fall over or not trying it. I'm just a short skinny 23 year old so I'll get a couple of buddies to give me a hand.

Nope. It was always smooth. I though it was weird also.
