    Basement Flooring Options?

A sump pump sounds like overkill? I've never once had standing water, even after serious rains that caused other houses in the area to flood, just dampness. I do understand it as insurance against a broken pipe. But does it really sound necessary? If it is i'll look into it, but now i'm...

    Basement Flooring Options?

I'd have to have a drain in my floor for that to work?

    Basement Flooring Options?

My 1000 sqft basement is 1/2 workshop, 1/4 home gym, 1/4 storage and mechanicals. House was built in the 1900s, basement is fairly dry, except after heavy rain it gets damp and a couple spots get very little water infiltration, not even standing puddles, but you can see at one of the edges the...

Max Jax install - drilled hole in wrong position, now what?

So I originally ordered epoxy anchors, but they require a depth of 6"+ of concrete. I specifically told the contractor who poured the slab that I wanted 6" depth... I should have measured it myself because it's only 5". So epoxy anchors are not an option. I'll look at concrete filler, but...

Max Jax install - drilled hole in wrong position, now what?

I opened the hole a little bit with a round file from harbor freight. worked perectly. Until i went to torque down the lift.... the first anchor pulled right up. It's funny in my old garage i didn't have any problems with the lift installation, I've had nothing but problems since the new...

Max Jax install - drilled hole in wrong position, now what?

I guess the drill walked and I drilled one of the holes off by about 1/8" and can't get it to line up. I suppose I could get more anchors and just drill 2 new holes and shift it over. How safe would it be to ream out the hole on the baseplate of the max jax? I suppose I could get a file or...

    MaxJax motorcycle lift hitting exhaust

Yeah, i used some scrap 2x6 i had laying around, It was not ideal though, I need to route some channels in it. There are 2 protrusions on the bottom of the frame that the bike was rocking on. Some tie down straps helped take up the slack though and kept the bike stable enough to do what I had to.

    MaxJax motorcycle lift hitting exhaust

No one else has experienced this? I've never used a motorcycle lift before. I guess i'll cut some 2x4s to hit the frame but clear the exhaust.

    MaxJax motorcycle lift hitting exhaust

so Just got my first bike, a 99 harley sportster, and I wanted to throw it up on my maxjax (I was an early buyer so it's the original maxjax prior to any revisions) to assist in doing some basic maintenance. I put on the motorcycle adapter, lined up the bike, and noticed that it'd hit the...

    Anyone ever hear of Spartacote?

I've been getting prices for epoxy floorings for a new garage and I had this guy give me a quote for Spartacote and it was literally twice what most epoxy guys are giving me ($3.50-4.00/sqft vs $7.50/sqft). Why is this product so much more expensive? I searched here and didn't find much on...

Foundation for new garage poured short

Sigh, crisis averted... I measured it again today, I feel silly for even posting this now... I guess it's a lesson, if a measurement seems wrong double check it... My buddy was over yesterday giving me a hand with a few things and he helped me measure. Since the width of the garage was longer...

Foundation for new garage poured short

The guy I hired to pour the foundation poured the footings last week, they garage will now be 6" less wide on both sides. So now I loose a foot of floor space. I only realized it because I went out and measured it to double check his work. I'm really not happy about this. I haven't even told...

New Garage question about Lift Anchors

I'm pouring 6" of concrete for the floor. It'll be 3kpsi concrete with wire mesh. I'll look into the epoxy anchors. I don't move the lift that frequently, but with the new garage i might end up moving it more, who knows.

New Garage question about Lift Anchors

So I have a Max Jax that i was an early buyer for and have had it since it came to market. I'm building a new 3 car garage and have poured the footings and i'm getting ready to have the floor poured soon. I got to thinking about the lift and if I should set up some kind of anchors before I...

    engine stand

I've got an import engine stand, but it held my mustang engine just fine. It's the omega 1250 lbs geared head stand. Think i paid about 200 for it.
