about 15 years ago a friend who restored classic cars gave me a pair of bluebird tin snips. Outstanding quality. Took a bit of sharpening and they were good as new.
That's the inherent problem with going the DP route. Any more than one mechanic working on an exhaust will always result in bruised egos and awkward moments at at work the next day.
Best heat gun ive ever used was the Bosch Model 1942. They have replaceable heating elements too. I believe Master Appliance has the same one but with their own brand. Bosch discontinued it a while back. Looks like this:
Nice oilers everyone. I'm the proud owner of an old Eagle oiler. It may look like a piece of junk to most but it is priceless to me. See... my Grandfather passed away a few years before i was born ('78) so obviously i never had the chance to know him. But my whole life relatives would tell me...
Yea. When Craftsman began moving production to China, they came out with Craftsman Professional as their premium line with lifetime warranty. Not sure why they dumped that for Craftsman Industrial, maybe because they were no longer making the Professional tools themselves in US but shifted...
So I just started an interesting restoration project. I recently put my grandmothers old house up for sale and there were a few things I just couldn't allow to leave the family. One of which is my grandparents General Electric Monitor Top CA-1-B16 Refrigerator. It's been running for 81 years...
I just picked up a Harbor Freight 10x18 Wood lathe on the 4th of July sale for $150 and its been outstanding in every way. Centers line up perfectly, power has been fine for everything i've turned including a 7" diameter bowl which was held in place by a seriously heavy chuck I bought from Penn...
I'm the proud owner of a single Snap-On product, and it's a 3/8" Dual 80 Soft grip ratchet. Most of my tools are new and vintage Craftsman with a few wood boxes full of really old (100+ years) tools of brands i've never heard of that I inherited and aside from a pair of early 1900's Bailey wood...
If I wanted to keep it, I did find some DC Drive controllers that run off 240v which I have in my garage for my welder and they were not too bad used. They started at about $150 for a KBCC-255 Drive which does up to 5hp @ 180vdc.
Well back to the drawing board. I think i may go pickup a...
Woah... i just realized that NEMA Frame 182 is HUGE. Oh well, looks like I ordered something i'll be reselling once the seller is out of his last 10. Doh!
So i've been looking for quite some time for a good deal on treadmills that I can tear apart for the motor, but came across this today on Ebay.

So that's what that stupid thing is called on the old french knife I tested my DIY sharpener on! (see photos above). My neighbor stopped into my garage today while I was finishing up sharpening the rest of my Forschner knives and asked me if I'd sharpen one of his. I figured if he was happy with...
I've always been a big fan of Forschner (Victorinox) knives with the rosewood handles. I grew up with them and currently own about two dozen in various shapes and sizes and they easily hold their own against knives 2-3x as expensive. The most important thing about Forschner steel is you must...
I've got both the 7amp side switch milwaukee and the big 11amp paddle switch milwaukee and they are outstanding. Any grinder that can survive the punishment of grinding my entire two car garage concrete floor without a bit of slow down is a winner in my book.
And whatever you do, make sure to...
