Roof rain water run off control suggestions

Yes that could work. My only concern was gravel from the driveway getting on top of the "grates" and puncturing it since that's the area I'll drove over frequently. It is an option though and something I can add in the future.

Roof rain water run off control suggestions

Yeah those long term issues are what I’m trying to avoid so I should probably bite the bullet and do gutters. I agree, I really don’t want to cut the overhang off. I’ve seen some gutter strap brackets that I may be able to use without a fascia board. Just really don’t want to give the face of...

Roof rain water run off control suggestions

I did the forms so I know the pitch is sufficient. Also I based the building location and elevation on Hurricane Harvey which dumped about 50” of rain in 3 or 4 days time at my house so it doesn’t need to be higher. I’m just trying to figure out how to handle the water that will come off the...

Roof rain water run off control suggestions

I'm getting ready to pour concrete and I'm trying to decide what my best option will be. As seen in the picture I extended the concrete 12" out but after Imelda came thru I realized that wasn't far enough to capture all the run off from the roof. Do I extend the concrete forms out further and...

    Pole Barn Bay/Door spacing help!

I'm sure that's an option I could pursue but I'll have no snow load in my area and won't be putting a ceiling in. Have plans to do a mezzanine but it will be supported by it's own posts to avoid putting an extra weight on the building. Yeah 10' was definitely the minimum I wanted. I'll have 1...

    Pole Barn Bay/Door spacing help!

The building itself will have trusses & purlins but the lean to would be rafters and headers.

    Pole Barn Bay/Door spacing help!

Wow that's a real nice barn! Luckily I don't have to worry about snow loads but wind is definitely a concern being about 10 miles from the gulf coast. I'm hoping to get my contract in place this week. After posting here I checked with the contractor and he said they could work the specifics...

    Pole Barn Bay/Door spacing help!

fourbyford - This is the issue I was concerned about, how making the change to fit the doors I want will affect the rest of the building like you've said. The rafter spacing and header size on the building and lean to could be affected and mainly wasn't sure if pole barn contractors are used to...

    Pole Barn Bay/Door spacing help!

Not sure why this statement was necessary. I never claimed to be an expert and I said "pretty familiar" for a reason...because I don't know. That's why I asked the question. Isn't that the point of this forum?
