    New guy from Indiana

Nice. It looks like it's coming along. BTW, you on nasioc.com? Haven't been on there for awhile but I figured you were on it since you have Subaru on the wall. ;) Member 145 over there...

    Homak Garage Cabinet Review...

Does only some of the Gladiator cabinets mount with the wall track system? I thought they all did. For the price, the Homak wouldn't be bad if it weren't for the QC issues. It might bother more than others so I thought I'd point it out for any potential buyers. I didn't want to hassle with...

    Homak Garage Cabinet Review...

Been lurking here quite some time now but recently and finally started to polish my turd since a new garage build wasn't going to be feasible for at least a few more years(pics to come later in another post). I wanted all steel garage cabinets right away and didn't want to wait for the $99...

    Garage/Large Shed Project Planning

I have somewhat of the same constraints with the concrete and also thought about doing a wooden floor. I've decided to go with patio paver bricks instead due to their durability and the fact that I'm also going to be storing a vehicle. Unfortunately I had already bought a good amount of 3/4" GC...

    Battery powered Impact wrenches

Thanks for the further explanation and suggestion, i will have to try that. But bigger question was why was your mechanic borrowing your tool to do the job? ;) X2 on the Ryobi inquiry. I know though that the batteries will not interchange between the c3 and Ryobi.

    Battery powered Impact wrenches

I have a hard time believing it can take off 200 ft/lb of anything. I'm not saying you weren't able to take off your axle nut but question of it was really torqued to 200 ft/lbs. You have the 19v C3 model, right? Gonna get out my torque wrench to do an objective test and see where the actual...

    Battery powered Impact wrenches

I recently bought the Craftsman 19v impact and was a bit disappointed at doing automotive stuff with. It will work on lightly tightened bolts but will struggle with tight lug bolts on anything over 75 ft/lbs. HOWEVER, I do like the price point and the ergonomics of it. It felt better and lighter...

    To sheetrock or not???

    Mag-Lite LED conversion?

Anything with the CREE 7watt version is going to be bright. Generally 200-400 lumens. A lot of the new lights on the cop cars are all CREE designs and you know how bright those are... Got some on order for my reverse lights for my car as I moved into the burbs where it is pitch black outside.

    Video of a 6 second garage "break-in"

Surprisingly, we've just grown accustom to doing this daily. Granted we only secure the garage at night when we're done doing all of our errands for the day. It's become habitual to put the padlock in the track, hit the garage disable remote button so no remote abilities. Where we live, it makes...

    Video of a 6 second garage "break-in"

This is what I do on a daily basis but don't forget to reinforce the service door too. A good amount of service doors don't have a decent reinforcement and is easy to kick down. Also make sure you don't have one of those service doors with a window that is too close to the locks as someone can...

    Windows or no windows?

I live in a high crime area and my garage entrance is through the alley. I have been robbed before and here's my observation/experience. I agree about not having windows but also agree on having ventilation and light. My garage came with windows so what I did was limo tint the windows to...

    Little Giant Ladder

This is the reason why I didn't get one and have two ladders. I'm not in construction or a home inspector so a 13' one fit the bill perfectly for my needs at a fraction of the weight and price. IIRC, i got the Keller 13' model on sale for little over $50. It is light and folds to a compact...

Has Anyone Used the Craftsman C3 Impact Wrench Professionally?

Sears is having another sale on these and ends today. Comes out to $101.15 plus shipping and any applicable taxes. Comes with 2 batteries and charger. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00917339000P I went into the store and they had a Dewalt next to this one. The Craftsman felt lighter...

anyone ever cheat on adding garage area?

Good luck on your pursuit. I just sucked it up and went with the largest one that I could(20'x24') in the city of Chicago. This is actually pretty generous considering I live very close to downtown Chicago. I cheated a little in height though and got an extended gable style roofing that will...
