    Thanks for the responses. I'll plan to replace the PRV in the next couple of days. Given its age, it's due for a replacement. But can anyone explain why this wouldn't affect the cold water? Only the hot water is high pressure (momentarily) first thing in the mornings.

    There's a video highlighting this: I had the Dewalt DCF894 and had no problems pulling off sockets. I recently purchased the new M18 mid-torque in hog ring just to avoid any issues. Even though it cost more at Home Depot ($239 vs $219 everywhere else)
