    The Bowling Alley workbench build

Hybrid, I love your work, but I'm more impressed with your garage space. When I lived in St. Pete, I needed a pry bar to get a workbench in my space. Now I'm in Az with 3 times the space, and I'm eyeing that pry bar again. It never ends. Keep up the good work......and enjoy all that room.

    Lindsay 25 air compressor oil?

20 or 30 depending on your climate, but I would strongly recommend a synthetic oil, regardless of viscosity.

    Kill fire ants!!

Amdro is the best of the best. Doesn't take much either. If you're lucky enough to catch the nest build early in the summer, you're ahead of the game. Either way, that stuff is amazing.

Termites returning twice within 2 years after intital treatment?

Our undying thanks to EPA for causing all these problems by eliminating Chlordane in the 70's. One treatment was good for 20 years. Not now. Thanks, Big Brother. So happy you're looking after us.

    security camera systems

Selecting a security camera system today, or even the various components that go with it can be a daunting task. I just spent the last week researching what was available to replace the one we have at our store, and before long my eyes were rolling. There's analog, digital, HD-SDI, HD-CVI...

Well plumbers? Shallow well pump problem

For what it's worth...on a shallow well, I've never used unions, just regular PVC glued joints. On a 400' well, that won't work, but for shallow stuff, they work fine and take the worry about of a threaded union.

    Removing surface rust?

Your profile doesn't tell us where you are, but if it's Florida, well.........I've watched PVC rust, so there's no help. Just move.

    possum

I don't know, guys.....it's a toss up. Possum vs. skunk. They can both be just as ravaging, but that skunk has a hell of gift to give when you pop him. It's easy to "stop" the problem, but one hell of a mess to dispose of what he leaves.

    Help with internet for shop

Beemer has it. Ubiquiti has the best products out there. I am running an entire store 5.5 miles away on a Bullet link from a lower elevation to the top of a mountain. My store feed is 30Meg, and I do not see one bit of degradation here on the mountain. In other words, the store and the...

    Back-up home generators

I concur wholeheartedly. Do the math. At .15 to .20 per kwh......if your normal house load was 20KW, you'd be racking up $3 to $4 per hour, or about $75 to $100 per day. Most households, even with A/C running are well under 10KW. After all, it is supposed to be an "emergency" generator to...

Pulling dead cars onto 4-post lift?

You're missing a major human factor here. Money has nothing to do with it. At some point in this quest it becomes a personal challenge. "Is this thing going to kick my ***, or not?". The general answer is "NO", and we're going to figure out a way to extract ourselves from this predicament...

What value does a GC add?

As Andy said....onsite supervision is the name of the game. I don't care how carefully plans, specifications, are drawn, something WILL go awry. There will be a glitch (in reality, many glitches) during the course of construction. If you are there every day, and you have a rough idea how...
