    Made in China

The Taiwanese tools have been pretty good for a long time now. I have a lot of stuff made by Teng tools. These are made in Taiwan but the quality and design is top notch. I would have them over the Australian made Sidchrome stuff any day. For larger machinery the Taiwanese stiff is good too. My...

Wheel dollies for trucks, how would you make them?

I made the car dollies a little higher than ride height to make it easier for Laurie to get down and paint the sill areas. Cheers Mike

Wheel dollies for trucks, how would you make them?

I knocked these up the other day for a friend's car restoration. They bolt directly to the suspension pickup points and work surprisingly well. Only fixed at 2 points but plenty rigid enough for a body shell. Any heavier and I reckon mounting them at 4 points each would be needed. One person...

Wheel dollies for trucks, how would you make them?

The castors I used are rated at about 2 tons each from memory and the wheel is about 10" in diameter. They have a tapered roller bearing setup for the swivel. Cheers Mike

Wheel dollies for trucks, how would you make them?

I built a heap of dollies to move shipping containers. One of the keys is keeping the mounting plate parallel to the floor. Any angle and the castor will not swivel nicely and tend to want to sit at one position. We fit out the shipping containers as transportable equipment rooms and the...

    An Aussie Barn Build

I rearranged the air plumbing for the mill. Added a dropper for the air line so I can purge any water out of the system. I also installed a fog buster mist cooling system. Really happy with how it works. Made a new Youtube video about the mill and did a machining job for one of my project...

    Mill tool storage

I like the ER40 collets. I had a manual drawbar on my old HAFCO mill and it is just as tall as this one. I'm fairly tall so could reach the drawbar OK with a stretch. Changing tools was a pain and the ER collets save a lot of time. Just need to hold the spindle brake while you loosen them off so...

    Ideas for a compressor enclosure?

Some good ideas, Thanks guys. I'm thinking I'll relocate the compressor to the other side of the shed (as far from the neighbours as possible. It's a section where I haven't lined the walls yet so might build a dedicated enclosure and add some sound insulation to the wall behind it. The heat...

    My Reloading Project....

The problem I had was because I was using the powder thrower on the side and weighing every charge before dropping it in manually. The AR2206 powder I used is little jelly bean shaped grains and didn't throw very accurately for my application. cheers Mike

    Mill tool storage

The holders are made from some 100mm x 50mm x 6.3mm 6061 structural angle. The 6061 seems to machine much better than most of the extruded aluminum sections. Nice holder setup BMK. I like how you've labelled all of the collet positions. I think I'll have to dig out my number punches. The mill...

    My Reloading Project....

Speaking of bad round. How about the one you forget to drop a powder charge into. The primer has enough puff to just shove the bullet an inch or two down the barrel. Very embarrassing in a comp when you are lying on the mound. Never did it twice but since then I took to sub consciously giving...

    My Reloading Project....

Looks like a great setup. I liked having a good section of bench on either side of the press as I found it's easier for organization as you cycle through. Get yourself a comfortable bar stool to sit on. I've got mainly Lyman stuff now. Lyman T Mag manual turret press similar in design to your...
