    Hydraulic Press Recommendations

Yes, after looking at things closer I dont even think I need a 25 ton press although that seems common. But for sure not 50 or 75 or 100 ton for most common automotive applications. I dont think most of us would ever go over 20. Still prefer a good name brand so looking at the Dake models...

    Hydraulic Press Recommendations

Looking to see if anyone has any recommendations on a really good quality press for my shop. Im looking for about a 50 ton press, and easy way to move the table up and down, and possibly air assist to move the ram easier. Dake makes good quality products but dont see that combo as an option...

Buying a new parts washer - advice

Just adding some photos here of what I bought. For what I am doing its the best fit for about $1500. Call Safety Kleen when I need them and they clean out and change the solvent. Great piece of equipment. I also built a dolly for it you can see in the photo so I can move it anytime I need...

Buying a new parts washer - advice

Just coming back to this. After looking alot closer at the System One parts washers they didnt make any sense because of the maintenance costs. Its one thing to buy a machine like that...its another when the circuit board or motor goes out and how expensive they are to repair. Ordered this...

Buying a new parts washer - advice

Snap On is a good option...I can look into that. The heated units are good but I dont have the floor space for one of those and also you need to deal with the waste water they create. So there is a trade off there as well. But for sure I am not keeping the style I have now. Ive done my...

Buying a new parts washer - advice

Well...the problem I am finding with parts washers is there is no middle ground here really and online reviews are really lacking. Seems you can either buy a really cheap or really expensive unit and thats it. I do use a parts washer on a daily basis in my shop so its an important tool.

Buying a new parts washer - advice

I have been using the same parts washer for the last 15 years or so. Its your typical 20 gallon free standing parts washer that basically has a pool of solvent in a metal tub with a pump that has long since stopped working. Its time for something newer and better. I have a friend who has a...

    Recommendations on hand tools?

For right now its only the socket sets and ratchets I am replacing and things related to that like extensions etc. What I have is old and abused and cant say much quality. Picked them up all over the place over the years. I have a real issue with buying anything from Harbor Freight and go...

    Recommendations on hand tools?

Lots of good input....thanks for those who made comments. Some other options here to consider I havent thought of. I think the best idea I am reading is maybe I dont need to go to one brand for everything. For me it was a convenience more than anything. Would be nice to place one order with...

    Recommendations on hand tools?

So after many many years and long overdue, I am looking to replace all my hand tools. Specifically all sockets that I have (impact, deep, 6 point, 12 point, 1/4 , 3/8 SAE, Metric etc etc) and all the ratchets that I have as well. What I have now is old and abused with a mis-match of brand...

    Adding a Paint Booth

I am looking at building an addition to my shop where I can put in a full paint booth. Anyone here have any experience they can share? I need to figure out the dimensions of a paint booth and specifically the width. Best I can find is I see alot of paint booths seem between 13 to 14.5 feet in...
