    Free tools

2-1/4 Wright socket I found on the side of the road. 3/4 Matco extendable ratchet from my father-in-law, HE found it on the side of the road. Armstrong and Proto tools from the Army, was told to clean out a locker was told to toss everything in it and was able to walk out with nearly a full...

What's your favorite "off" brands for tools.

Jobsmart from Tractor supply has served me well for the past few years. Ratchets are decent and hold up well enough, i've used and abused their six point sockets and they haven't failed yet. Pro-Grade from Rural King, they have decent wrenches and overall a decent set line-up, though my local...

    Good by Armstrong ☹️

When i was in the Army, some GMTK were Proto, so my guess is they will probably switch fully to Proto.

I love Proto as much as anyone else but.......

even so the 1/4 is almost a $100 The ONLY way i can see a place buying these and issuing it them out to their mechanics is the military.

Is there something I am missing here? Proto is probably my favorite tool company but i can not justify the price of these. Anyone have one that can give a little info on em? Are they worth the money? https://www.zoro.com/proto-hand-ratchet-12-drive-25-1316-l-j5426htc/i/G8482376/

    Growing up with tools.

but in all seriousness. My dad isn't one to work on cars, maybe because he doesn't have the time for it, working two jobs, however...he is great at working on lawn mowers and weed eaters. He has a mixture of craftsman and junk. He used to have Craftsman, SK and some Proto but unfortunately my...

I knew that the workbench didn't stay clean for long and it was the main reason we had multiple sets.

    Lets see some Millwright toolboxes

Millwright is an umbrella term. Can be someone that does installation, rigging, or maintenance, all the same. I work in a food facility, it's a very clean environment for the most part. Mainly battling rust due to the fact that everything is wet.

Where can I find a M8x1.25 HSS die made in USA

https://www.mscdirect.com/FlyerView?contentPath=/sales-catalogs/metalworking MSC is probably one of my favorite places to go through, they run good deals and some bonuses. Bought a Wiha screwdriver set and got a free t-shirt and catalog.

Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?

This was at work with my supervisor about 2ft away. Went to use the lathe to clean up a shaft and was in a hurry. Use the the t-wrench to tighten the chuck down and tell my supervisor to start it while i grab the sandpaper. He starts the lathe and bam, I get a nice shot from the t-wrench into...

got bit by the ZORO bug...

Ever since i discovered Zoro i have been ordering tools left and right. Mainly Proto with the occasional SK or Blackhawk. I believe it is easiest sight to use when ordering tools. Last night i ordered the Proto 10 piece hex bit sockets in standard and metric, (the full length set with the blow...
