It looks like brass. I can say the early bronze ship's bell I have is even lighter toned than the hammer.

Might be the LED flood's in my basement. It's certainly not aluminum.

Picked this hammer up over the weekend. The handle looks like a Lixie. It weighs 2lb 2.5 oz. Nothing cast in the head and there is little bit of faint color on the handle but not enough to tell what it was. Thoughts? Thanks!

I do have a newer blade on it but was considering an older one closer to the age of the protractor head. Functionally my 18 inch satin chrome blade would work quite well though.

Buy it now on eBay was too tempting this week. Splurged on a No. 16 double protractor and two NOS 559 screwdrivers. I'm really pleased with the condition of all 3 pieces. I've only seen one other 16 for sale in the past. Thinking the protractor would show well with an 18 inch blade...
