Mixing mica powder into colored (not clear) epoxy?

I've got 100% solids tan delivered, unfortunately. Doing a urethane clear, so not able to mix with a clear. The veins would be a cool look, though :) If mixing a gold mica powder with a tan epoxy, it "seems" like it would work well. Those are famous last words.

Mixing mica powder into colored (not clear) epoxy?

Has anyone mixed a mica powder into a colored epoxy? Tan specifically, but colored in general. Looking to bump the base coat tan into more of a gold color and want to know if there have been any issues you've run into. I can't find images of examples doing this - only with clear epoxy.

    Budget-minded: Would Lock-Down be a capable primer for Epoxy-Coat?

Budget is limited, but am looking to return my SuperCoat kits for Epoxy-Coat. Plan: - Muratic Acid (this is a brand new floor) - Lock-Down primer - Epoxy-Coat 100% solids - medium flakes - SuperCoat Waterborne Urethane topcoat Would this be a worthwhile solution for someone budget-restricted...

Will use SuperCoat 2-part epoxy. Is a primer...

Would a coat of the SuperCoat be a good primer? If I get a clear Epoxy-Coat, would a base color for 2 gallons, medium flakes, then clear EC top for another 2 gallons be a workable solution?

Thanks Shea. I'll be doing the work next weekend, so there is still time to return the SuperCoat, if needed. Would 100% solids Epoxy-Coat be a better option? Budget keeps me from being able to get Armor or Nohr-S, so Epoxy-Coat seemed like the best in my price-range. Would you recommend of...

...like Seal-Krete Epoxy Seal beneficial, unnecessary, or downright NOT recommended in this case? I'll have used muriatic acid on a new home slab. I have 4 epoxy kits, which is enough for 2 solid coats on my garage.

Re: Best process to add some "glitter" or "reflective chips" to tan 100% solids epoxy Thanks Scotty. Is there a good ratio to use? Will intersperse it with about 10-lbs of flakes. 500 sq ft

Best process to add some "glitter" or "reflective chips" to tan 100% solids epoxy... Looking to get a little sparkle (please guys...forgive me using the s-word) to the base color. Going for a FSU Seminole color palette and need it more on a gold side. The current uniforms are more in like with...

Looking for custom flakes. Recommendations on who to buy from?

Only would need about 6 -8 lbs. I want a garnet/gold/black Florida State University palette for the flakes. Where is the best online vendor to get them? OriginalColorCips.com is about the only one I've found to buy in non-massive quantities. Others? Thanks and Go 'Noles

New house. A few epoxy (1-part paint and 2 part solids) questions.

Thanks. I decided against the Rock Solid after enough nightmare stories. I actually ordered the Supercoat epoxy from Sams. Comes with the non-slip texture, flakes, and a sealer... ...which is an acrylic one. I'd rather a good epoxy sealer, so I'm researching those right now. I appreciate...

Daich Spreadstone experience? Considering a stone tile appearance for the garage.

Thanks. For the epoxy, I was going to put the epoxy clear coat over the spreadstone covering.

Daich Spreadstone experience? Considering a stone tile appearance for the garage.

I was only able to find a couple of mentions for Daich or Spreadstone on this forum, so I'm not sure of the experience you guys have had with it. I know epoxy is a huge interest for the floor coating, but I'm looking more towards a "tile look" (not actually laying tile), for my garage. This...

New house. A few epoxy (1-part paint and 2 part solids) questions.

Thanks Shea - great article. Looking at the Nohr-S right now. I'm not experienced at all working with concrete. It seems like it would be easy enough to manage, though. Would a squeegee be recommended for polyurea coatings? Can I use their Torg Metallic Pigments with the coating, or is that...
