Having lots of heavy clay causes water to be held in the soil above as well as running across the face of the clay. So much water is held up from draining away that your trees are not being killed by the clay but are drowning in all of the water held in your soil. Root systems when...
I notice that you have OSB over the ceiling. OSB is as much resin and glue as it is particles. Therefore the OSB could be considered your vapour barrier and will jkust need a coat of paint to lighten the ceiling aspect.
The OSB will act as a vapour barrierbecause of the high amount of resin present. Much better than the paper over the insulation which is basically useless..the paper not the insulation.
I'd get the company back to replace their sloppy work and get the OSB up.
>>Oh yes I have.
Your table of certs DOES NOT cover compressed air.
Plumbing OK, Water OK, but not air. Your table does not even mention compressed air at any time. This table is from Rehau who make this stuff so there should be reference to compressed air if it were certified...
Last time I checked, about 6 months ago, not a single PEX supplier provides a certification that PEX is good with compressed air. Thats why I always use copper or iron.
If the suppliers will not explain the lack of tests for use with compressed air then I will not use it.
HydroBlox eh? Never heard of them, but it seems like a great idea. Also kinda seems like a load of BS. I can't find any substantial evidence that they work, other than promo videos from people selling them. But they claim to flow better and last longer than French drains. Anyone here ever used...
Can I ask. How do you know it has asbestos in the flooring. Has it been tested with a chemical asbestos detector. If not then these kits are available quite cheaply and test can be done by you with a small/tiny portion of the floor.
It looks like thermoplastic tiles from the 60's to me.
Asbestos was removed from all products by 1973 so little chance of the popcorn including asbestos. To be certain buy a test kit, they are cheap, do test and then smile.
paying someone to go through and remove all popcorn would be a good choice. You will know this 30 minutes in when you...
I'm from the UK so things are possibly different here maybe but PEX is PEX the world over.
I have talked to three PEX manufacturers tech departments and all have said PEX is NOT suitable for compressed air. Even their tech docs say the same thing.
Why a) Oxygen permeable, b)UV degradation...
So rough concrete, cracks and holes.
So first off don't paint it yet.
Second you will be using the garage for part woodwork and part spanner work. So tiles are a bad idea as wood dust and chippings will result in a nasty accident to the user as the tiles get very slippy.
So options:-

I hung a tennis ball from the roof so that it hit the windscreen when car was properly parked...that is deep enough in the garage...wife was grateful...don't know how your partner would vuiew it...maybe as a game to always just hit the ball and not move it.
