    Yes the tools will be vertical. With the addition of the rubber I doubt they'll hop 17-24 inches upwards out of the rack. Ill check those places thanks!

    I'm planning on building some landscaping hand tool racks for my trailer soon. The idea is two vertical 2x4s with a four foot 2x4 on top and one near the bottom. Ill drill holes so the tools will slide through both. Then on the top I want to add a piece of thick-ish rubber and cut slits in it...
