    Thread Cutting Oil

i rarely need to tap new threads into something, but when i'm just fixing threads it seems any old oil is fine. my old shop had whatever the CRC tap/drilling oil product is and i never cared for it at all. i will keep your suggestion in mind for future

    Sk wrench

i have SK stubby, regular, and long pattern as well as their X frame ratcheting. they were my work truck wrenches and got a lot of use. my only issue with them was the 12 point box end on the small wrenches weren't centered quite right. still had perfect grip but it was not aesthetically...

If you only had money to buy one set of combo wrenches...

this has happened to me twice, both on John Deere 4045's, older, non-ecm. once on a bolt holding the turbo to the exhaust manifold and once on a belt tensioner bolt that ended up being longer than anticipated and turned right into the belt guard. it is a real consideration, especially when...

School me on corded reciprocating saw

i love my corded Makita, it is either 11 or 13 amp and has a hard plastic case. my only two complaints are the rubber around the blade release is soft and wears down/bends, and it is definitely heavy but despite the weight you feel the saw reciprocation and fatigue when using it a lot. which...

odd request: tan/brown ball bearing grease identifiable? (Pics inside)

2-4-C grease looks like that and can be found in West Marine and some auto parts stores

Do I Need an Impact Wrench?

i don't use a ratchet for anything unless my electric or air can't break it loose. except final hand-torqued tightness. whenever possible i use an impact for breaking almost anything loose. even a little 12v "zip gun" for pulling screws and fasteners 13mm or smaller is always handy. they're...

    Epstein Day 2021

that was my thought also but there's other items on the website that lists stock qty as 0, so that makes me doubt that as to why they completely disappeared. oh well, i can always divert that money into my AR10 build

    Epstein Day 2021

i'm sure i missed something here, but probably half of my pre-made cart disappeared and the items are unavailable to find on the website. items in question were all SK impact socket sets

Why do Metric socket sets skip some sizes?

that's interesting. i had to replace a block heater on an SDMO 500kw generator (Volvo powered) and it's held into its bracket with 11mm bolts. only time i've ever used one. might make sense if that's still modern Swedish though SDMO themselves are French

MAC tools - show us your MAC tools!

i have a ton of Mac tools because i have a great dealer. i don't have any pics at the moment except for my new (two months old maybe) toolbox for my home garage, with two drawers including some Mac tools in them: i have a lot more at home and in my work van.

    Craftsman tool boxes at Lowes

i think i have the bottom box that goes with this in my work van. it's actually pretty great so far (maybe 3 months of use). i don't think it was even $250 and it perfectly fits in a gap between a shelving rack and the driver's cab, like it was made for it.

Cornwell Tools - Locating a Dealer???

any Cornwell dealer can just ship to your house/shop if you give him your credit card info. my dealer lives 67 miles north of me and does this whenever i find a good flyer deal.

Are 1/4, 3/8, 1/2" socket drive systems the standard outside the USA?

slightly off topic, what about TV screen sizes? are they still in inches overseas?
