I only own one because I saw an old SK Wayne 1 3/16" 12 point socket at a flea market for cheap so I bought it knowing I would likely never use it for anything outside of satisfying my obsession.
well.....today we were changing the compensator on her Harley Tri-Glide and lo and behold.....the nut holding the clutch basket assembly in place is 1 3/16".

Three dollars well spent.

1-3/16" is very close to 30mm but that didnt stop me from buying a 1-3/16" socket. Only time I found a real 1-3/16" nut was restoring an old bench vise where the swivel nut was that side verified with a caliper.

That's why I always tell my girlfriend, just because I don't need it now, doesn't mean I won't need it someday.

Got to love it! It's always a good idea to get a quality tool if priced right!

1 3/16? I have seen a few things that need that. Crank pulley on my vw bug, also the inner paralever bolt on a bmw K1200rs I used to have.

Oh wait, they are all 30mm, a size that is included every impact set I ever bought.

1 3/16 is extremely common on Cat and I’ve heard of it on Deere stuff. I had to buy all of my sockets and wrenches for that size separate as it’s not in the “common” size range of sets (at least SAE wise) and my metric sets didn’t have it either in it’s 30mm version.

I’ll pick up large stuff when I see it on a deal because I “might” need it one day. Glad that day came from you.

There are no good tool stores locally so the middle of a project at night or a weekend isn’t the time to figure out you need a socket you don’t have.

That is the only size that ever went missing from my end wrench set. I seem to be constantly using an adjustable because of it. In my current garage sale, I have six sets of end wrenches and about 50 combinations on the table. Not one single 1 3/16. Maybe I never had one.
