    Mac MB8100 and MB8200

No pics of mine, but I have the same set, top and bottom.

How many sets of screwdriver do you have

I have an older Mac set, a pretty new Felo set, a collection of Vessel cross points, and probably a dozen or so other assorted Mac, Craftsman, and Park Tool drivers floating around in various places.

    vintage threads Square Nut

The 5/16 x 26T is still used today on front wheel axles on many cheapo bikes like what is sold at your local Sprawl-Mart. I'm not too sure when it was first used, but I would imagine it probably goes back to the advent of the safety bicycle. Also, traditionally on bicycle hubs with thread on...

Bicycle Tools - What's it take?

And for what it's worth, EVT is way more comparable to Snap-On than Park.

Bicycle Tools - What's it take?

One of the specific tools the OP will probably need at some point are headset wrenches. That 1994 Trek 730 still had a threaded headset, and those are much easier to properly adjust with thin wrenches. Also, if you're replacing a 20 year old chain, you're probably gonna have to replace the 20...

    Eldi pliers

I have finally discovered that the pliers in question were made to be used on a fitting similar to a hi-lok fitting. These are current hi-lok pliers made by Zephyr. I'm still not sure what they were doing in a tool box in a bike shop, but I at least now have some idea of what they were made for.

    Pedro's Tools?

I have this set at work. I don't use it a whole lot, but it's worked well when I've had to. In the business of working on bikes, the size I use the most is the T25, with the T10 being a distant second. I have a Birzman T25 T handle that I use a lot, and greatly prefer to the Pedro's T/L that I...

    JIS Screwdrivers for motorcycles

I don't work on motorcycles, but rather bicycles for a living. I was given a Vessel +2 Megadora 900 driver and use it daily. I like it so much that I decided I had to have a +0 and a +1. What I've found is that the bicycle industry has basically zero actual Phillips screws in current use. The...

    park tools

Yes but I have seen photos of the connecting link they are developing. It's coming. I don't know when, but it's on the way.

    park tools

Small correction, but Shimano very much recommends not using a quick link to connect their chains. They have used a non-replaceable pin system since they introduced HyperGlide a few decades ago. Word on the street however, is that there is a connecting link in development for their newest...

    Eldi pliers

I hadn't thought of that, but I don't think they would be used for that. I've actually seen some of the older Eldi and Var chain pliers and they're a bit different.

    Eldi pliers

Does anyone out there know what these were made for? They were made by the German company Eldi, who used to make tools for the bicycle market. They were once part of the collection of a now defunct bicycle shop. I've worked in the bike business for most of the last twenty years, and have a...

    Hello from S·K Hand Tools

Hey, I'm new here too, but I have a question. Have you guys ever considered making JIS screwdrivers? They're not real easy to find in North America, yet JIS screws are everywhere these days.
