    Let's see your toolbox.

I always kind of liked those Craftsman Quick wrenches, they were the longest wrenches i had for a while and would use almost the box end exclusively. There is one job i recall that the open end actually ended up being the most efficient way to do the job.

    Let's see your toolbox.

I have a soft spot for these rally type boxes. Growing up my dad and uncle both had ones loaded down with tools that would get carried to whatever they were working on. They were both mechanics so it wasn't their main set of tools, but as a kid I would of swore you could of fixed anything with...

At my first job as an industrial mechanic we were issued that 12 point SAE Armstrong socket set and a 15 inch armstrong ratchet. The sockets were used heavily on both ratchets and impact guns. I'm sure they will serve you well.

Tool Brands you cannot stand . . .

I broke the same one. Took my 30 year old craftsman 18" breaker bar and finished the job. However aside from that one Proto tool I have had good luck with everything else.

Who makes a really great pair of suspenders for work pants?

I've been wearing Welch suspenders, both the heavy duty and the regular. I find these work exceptionally well, and even though they are clip ons the clips are strong and hold tight in an industrial environment.

    Complete mechanics socket set sources.

I think the Pittsburgh Pro 301 piece set has a very comprehensive set of sockets for the money.

    The Ridgid addiction thread

I've always wanted to get a hold of a couple of the Ridgid beak jaw adjustable wrenches that were made by western forge. They looked like they had a larger sized head then handle length. I have one that is craftsman branded that is a great wrench. The beak jaw makes it a lot easier to get...

Single most useful tool for regular joe?

This was going to be my recommendation too, you can also have the 055 and 110 engraved as well if youre looking for a more traditional looking knife.

Wright 3400 ratchet pawn shop steals

Your opinion on Titan hand tools?

I have there old style extra long 3 piece flex head ratchet set. The 25" long 1/2" sees the most use and it has held up well. I believe it was actually rebranded as Mac for a while too.

Sources for husky ratchet rebuild kit

These ratchets were great. They were branded under several different brands. Unfortunately kits are hard to come by, but there were so many ratchets made a replacement from ebay should be easy to find and would likely cost about the same as a kit.

    Show your adjustable wrenches!

A lot of people would be surprised to find out just how many nuts and bolts are turned successfully everyday with adjustable wrenches in heavy industry. When you have a lot of ground to cover and are not quite sure what you are walking into a pair of adjustable wrenches are indispensable. What...
