Picked up a few Gedore raised panel and number 14 SAE wrenches , have a few sizes I still need. Both sets made in India.

The raised panels , only one of them is stamped " Gedore " though but it's clearly the identical wrenches. Quality control in India during the 80s and perhaps one of the reasons they stopped forging there ? Haven't wire brushed the muck off the 5/8 yet.
I have sizes 1/4 to 7/8 on tge raised panel (although just a few in Pic) and sizes 1/4 to 13/16 in nr14

They sold a lot of the raised panel unbranded to be locally branded on the packaging I think. Foreign ownership became very difficult in India after Union Carbide killed a town in 1984. Gedore sure sold a lot of those wrenches and established a world wide brand making it Germany’s largest tool manufacturer I believe. I like their aesthetic of not making shiny tools.

I've always liked and bought Gedore. In SA we get SA and German forged Gedore tools that are a tad nicer as far as finish vs the Indian ones that seem to flood the 2nd hand market here and have had a little less care as far as finsihing goes, but having said that, they seem to be up to similar standards and also appear to be worth very little so for me this is quite nice that I'll be able to make up an SAE set with duplicates for not very much.

I've yet to buy anything from the Gedore red range as for me there are more attractive options with easier warranties vs the Gedore red range. I really feel like they've missed with the red range.

Left hand thread, chasers? That sounds just awful, my condolences.

At my first job as an industrial mechanic we were issued that 12 point SAE Armstrong socket set and a 15 inch armstrong ratchet. The sockets were used heavily on both ratchets and impact guns. I'm sure they will serve you well.

I have 12 bearings that need to be installed on a bicycle and I’ll take any excuse I can to buy a new tool so here we have a bearing press kit from Amazon. Finely crafted in China I’m sure but seems really nice.

The markings indicating which bearings each bushing fits is a nice touch.

New to me.

Toptul metric wrench set 6-19mm (satin finish). These are really light weight and feel good in my hands. Maybe a tad thin but I also have XL sized paws, so... These will be replacing my mid-90s Craftsman raised panels.

Tsunoda Power Bent Nose Pliers PW-222DG
Tsunoda Power Diagonal Cutting Pliers PW-302DG
Tsunoda Power Long Nose Pliers PW-202DG

Expanding my collection of not-SO (and crossing off 3/4” set), I’ve been watching this used set on eBay since December and I finally got an offer on it. The ratchet is surprisingly fine toothed and most of the sockets are unused, a few have clearly spent some time in the back of a truck getting wet:

IMG_8273.jpegDieHard deep SAE socket set. Got working on my dad’s truck at the lot he parks at and realized I was going to need a 7/16 deep socket well silly me forgot and left the deep sockets at home also realized I needed a 1/2 too. Went there and it was going to be like $15 for two individuals so he just bought me this set for $20. Can’t see paying that price for two when I got the whole set for $20. DieHard has great tools so I had no problem with getting them there. He paid $15 with the speed perks things he has. New sockets for me can’t complain lol. I’m too cheap to be buying anything right now cause I’m saving every extra penny for vacation.

Atta-boy, nice SET!

Speed Perks is a good program. Usually, the best deals I've seen are the 20% off coupons, but they usually want you to order online and pick up in store. Apparently, they want to punish you for spontaneous buys, which is a REALLY stupid way to get less money from guys like us who like to pick things up before buying them (and aren't afraid to buy something extra once in a while)...

The Milwaukee necklight wasn't for me so I returned it. Got the newer Matco necklight (600lm vs 300lm). Took it to work & brought home the EZ-RED as planned. So at work I'm now using the Matco & Snap-on. At home will be the EZ-RED but I also have the backup Snap-on that I ended up with.

Matco is the brightest & has the longest runtime but is also the heaviest, they do get a bit noticeably warm though. Snap-on & EZ-RED are pretty much the same for brightness as well as runtime. The current model Snap-on is still my favorite by far. All are made by EZ-RED.

This little flashlight caught my eye so I had to have it. Been a while since I've fed my old & broken flashlight addiction. Has a magnetic cap/base, plan was to use it at work for certain cases. Well I like it so much that's not happening anymore, keeping it at home now. Picked up the extended battery tube for it too just for the heck of it (for 18650, normally uses 18350). Comes with battery, USB-C rechargeable. I went with the slightly more expensive 5000K model. Osram P9 LEDs. No stupid annoying interface, I like simple. Just low, med, high by holding down the switch & has memory. Double click for turbo even when off. Has strobe but fortunately it takes 3 clicks to access & no SOS ****. 4 clicks puts it in lockout mode. No momentary but that's ok for this form factor.

New wire strippers for work. Been using the HF Doyle equivalent that they gave me which have actually been holding up great. They were already used when I got em & I've been using them everyday for 7 months now. Pivot came loose a week ago which I readjusted & threadlocked. Nothing wrong with them but I wanted something different & easily identifiable, I don't think anything could have been a better choice. Lol.

At nearly $30 I was too cheap to buy em for work. AWDs that pop up were only $1 cheaper. I haven't seen the price fluctuate much (or at all) since I've been watching them. Then the 3 camels alerted me & according to them was the lowest price ever on Amz so I bought em for $24 & applied some rewards.

Thought this was kinda funny. I'm boring & not the type to buy brightly colored tools, I also don't need hi-viz at work but I think these will be funny to have/use at work.

I picked up this stuff at various sales in the last little bit. The wire strippers, multimeter, extension and needlenose pliers were for a toolbag I threw together, the bits and holesaws were to replace the sets I brought to work, and the rest of the pliers I bought because it was only twice the cost to buy a set of 4 vs. Just the needle nose.

This stuff I got from my dad as he's downsizing to move to a condo. The pry bar is actually my brother's, but he said he has enough of them he doesn't need it back.

This bench grinder apparently used to belong to CN (Canadian National) rail. My uncle worked for them for 35 years, and at one point everybody was told they needed to replace all of their grinders as they didn't have guards. Everybody ended up taking the old ones home.

Made a couple of stop’s yesterday and ended up picking up some random stuff. Needed a new computer mouse. One thing led to another. So I got the Icon flush cut pliers with a 15% coupon and free head lamp with coupon at Harbor Freight. Then went across the street to Home Depot to see what was going on over at the big HD.
