Building a 1,000lb Red Hickory Roubo Workbench - OWWM & Galoot style

Ok, it's been a few months with no update. That big slab should be completely dry and stabilized now, so we want an update on the big bench! :D Side note, I love the Nicholson you built. I built one and have had a great time using it. While I love the concept of a monsterous Roubo, I'm afraid...

Biesemeyer overarm blade guard (for table saw)

Up for grabs is a Biesemeyer overarm blade guard. This item is unused. It likely weighs more than my meager Craftsman table saw, so I really have little use for it. I need the space and a certain toolmonger needs the money, so somebody take this off my hands! How does $250 sound? Given the size...

Innovative Way to Store Circular Saw?

I've got a skil worm drive with a skyhook on it. It hangs under my workbench on a 2x4. My cordless saw lives in the tool bag with the rest of my cordless set so it's all together when I have to take it somewhere.

Hein Werner USA made 3-ton jack stands picture review

I've got a set of the 6 ton HW stands for Loretta (the dually). Mine aren't a perfect representation of car show-quality stack of dimes TIG work, but they look a hell of a lot better than that! I'd be kind of pissed if I were you. Any thoughts on returning them? That being said, the set I have...

Building a new Do-All band saw variable drive

I also spy a certain 2.5 ton drill press that we got teaser pictures of but never saw any "it's done" shots of like the DoAll. I keed, I keed. But I'd love some info and follow up on that monster. I've been trying to convince myself that I need to wait a while before jumping ship from...

Recommend a bearing puller and press

Thanks for the replies! I think I'm headed to HF to have a look at their idea of a 3 jaw puller and maybe a bearing separator too. After reading a dozen threads on "Buy once, cry once" tool philosophy, I think I can swing an arbor press with my next paycheck. Probably fail to understand how I...

Recommend a bearing puller and press

I'm mid-way through a drill press restoration and the bearings in the motor need to be replaced. What's your general recommendation on a bearing puller? I'm looking for more machinery-oriented applications than automotive-specific ones. Is the HF stuff ok for this, or is this somethig I need...
