Square footage, pounds of flakes - post up a pic...

I used about 1 lb per 7 sq ft ( .14 lbs per ft) for full broadcast. I like to throw chips til rejection so theres no wet spots. I got alot back 10-15% ?

"oil" spots seeping out of new concrete

Damn that *****. Gotta be something in the mix. I bet some grease was coming off the main shaft or a bearing on the mortar mixer. Only thing I can think of. I would call them back and ask WTF.

First Time DIY Epoxy - Epoxy-Coat and Golf Shoes?

I found some replacement metal spikes on EBay and put on my golf shoes. They work great but you can still slip. Definitely use anti skid. Snow on the car parked in the garage will make the floor wet and is VERY slippery on a coated surface.

Another prep question maybe floor sander???

hmmm , I bet the floor sander might do a good job. I know it would scratch the hell out of the surface which would make for a good mechanical bond for the epoxy. I`d get the roughest grit pad they have. I think they make a 36 grit. If your concrete is rough , it might just tear the hell out...

    Here's My Wolverine Floor

Wow looks great. I love the full marble look with a clear glaze top coat. Your bucket was smoking because you had too much sitting in the bucket for too long. it wasnt the foam brush. If you get the stuff out of the bucket quick you`ll have more time. When its smoking like that , its...

Control Joints - Cutting them in long after the pour

Youre right , its the nature of concrete to crack due to movement / settling / tempature changes , etc... Im surprised it hasnt cracked yet. Good mix whoever poured it for you. Theres probably some sort of rule of thumb as to where and how many joints youre supposed to have per sq footage...

    My finished garage floor

You and the misses can hold the fridge up in the air and I`ll coat under it. ;) If you ever wanna coat that square , let me know. I have some material left. Next floor I do , it wont be 85-90*F out  Working with 6-7 min pot life is not fun. Thanks for giving me credit but you...

    Which Clear Coat to use?

I see alot of polyurethanes are supposed to go on top because of the hardness and abrasion resistance. The "Shore D" hardness test on several urethanes Ive looked up is about 72 and the epoxies its about 80. The higher the number the harder. am I missing something here ? wouldnt you want...

    My neighbors Wolverine Floor

That Bosch grinder is what I use. its great but a little labor intensive being on your hands and knees for a couple hours. I think its the best way to prep a floor. The concrete is clean , white and pourous when youre done.

    "X-Game Coating Challenge" August 2008

hmmm :headscrat ... a 4 ft square is kinda big for one idea I have , just because it would take alot of this certain additive. I think if people submit pictures , it doesnt matter what size the backing is , as long as its big enough to take a good picture. Maybe like 18" square is minimum...

To add anti slip grit or not

I 100% say add grit. I did my floor with no grit , no texture , nothing. Just smooth and glossy the way I wanted it. Let me tell you , walking in and out of there in the winter with a wet floor is dangerous. Have to step gingerly or you`ll be a$$ over tea kettle. I would imagine sawdust is...

    "X-Game Coating Challenge" August 2008

wow great idea. I have a couple questions... "4x4 backing" - you mean 4 inch by 4 inch ? " use no more than 3 coatings ... " - is that up to 3 different projects or up to 3 layers of coating on 1 project ? I have some cool ideas. This will be fun ! -Kyle
