Hello all
I just got done degreasing the floor and was getting ready to muriatic acid the floor but after reading the label about causing cancer I think I better try another method. I survived cancer once and dont need to try again. Would a floor sander from a rental house work?? what grit disk will I need?? Shot blasting sounds like I could do more damage than good. Ill be using the Rustoleum industrial kit. The concrete is old and already preetty rough and it has no sealant on it.

Thanks

hmmm , I bet the floor sander might do a good job. I know it would scratch the hell out of the surface which would make for a good mechanical bond for the epoxy. I`d get the roughest grit pad they have. I think they make a 36 grit. If your concrete is rough , it might just tear the hell out of the pad. Lets us know how it works.

Diamond grinder or shot blaster is still probably the best way to prep a floor in my opinion. Good luck !

I used a floor sander with 36 grit on my already coated floor before I repainted it and it came out ok. If you're going to go through all the trouble with machine preparing I recommend doing it right and getting a diamond grinder.
