I ended up using all materials I had sitting around the place. Some angle iron, some chain...It does just what I needed, Now I can park a bike under it no problem. Holds the spare set of wheels...worked out good.
I have two sets of tires and wheels for my car, not a big garage and last night spent one hour looking at stuff laying around that I could possibly make a rack out of...then I remembered, I shouldn't start any new projects until I check "The site"...

We do get some snow. I don't really mind clearing out a few times a year. I'm more concerned with the space inside that the overhead doors take up. I'd like to have more easy access to the attic/storage space inside.
I had a few questions with regards to Swing open Garage doors. I think some call them Carriage house doors. Has anyone attempted to make them themselves? I have some basic woodworking skills and would like to try it but I'm pretty realistic about the time it takes.
