"Gearwrenches" useful for much? Park Ratcheting Wrenches?

So far my best use case for these is upper shock mounts where there's not much force required, depending on corrosion etc, but usually only about 20 degrees to work in and a. lot. of. threads. to. travel. The only one I own, a 15mm, bought in the middle of a 4 shocks job lol, saved at least a...

    Brake Pad Spreader?

Yeah, maybe I'm remembering 1990 or something, when I paid $100 per axle for bearings on the Minima (Datsun 210 Sedan). Thanks, got the Performance-branded version of the OTC 7034.

    Tools from the old world

Anyone in the US buying woodworking tools from France? Want one of these Fischer-Darex veneer saws, or an Arno version, but all the French sites including Amazon don't seem to acknowledge the existence of états-Unis.

    Tools of Japan

Who wouldn't? Single high-value tool costs $15 to ship, no sweat, but a couple dozen Engineer screwdrivers doubles with delivery.

    Woodworking 101--Tools and Tips

Don't use softwoods. If you're looking for handle-sized pieces of turnable wood in SoCal, keep an eye out for piles left on curbs. Carob, eucalyptus, oak, walnut, pecan, walnut, london plane, acacia free for the taking. Older neighborhoods with mature trees are prime. Or find a good firewood...
