Nice fab. But I wouldn't want to see someone bang their head against that, in the fold up position, without a helmet. And it seems there isn't much in there to hold anyone his in seat.

If you already have a bench and it's big enough for your plate, you could do something like this. If your bench is wider than the plate, then add 3/4" ply on the sides so the surface stays even.

Do you mean the bottom shelf? I didn't want a shelf under the bench so I could fit my compressors.

No. That's not what he said. He said the glasses will stop the UV rays. You'll still get flashed, but the effects won't be nearly as bad as if you had been flashed without them.

As a point of reference... I have a 11'x20' garage and used 5 fixtures of 2X4' and it's just bright enough.

Other than a company logo, and maybe slightly wider ramps than the OP's project, the RaceRamps don't offer much more when it comes to stability. So I don't know what the fuss is all about here. Now take a look at these "wheel cribs": If those a safe enough, the OP's ramps should be plenty...
