Looks like I am getting a baldor L1430T to run the compressor. Hopefully I will end up with a decent compressor. Including the compressor, tank, pressure switch, magnetic starter, and motor I have right at $500 in this little project.

For future reference oven cleaner isnt the best thing to use to clean a compressor, unless you plan on repainting. One coat of oven cleaner and it was down to bare metal. I was planning on keeping it the green, but since it is bare I painted it chevrolet engine orange to match the tank.

It is 16.5".

I havent measured it yet but it appears to be around 16 maybe a little over.

So would I need a 1740 rpm 5hp motor and "gear" it down to 685?
