Reinforce attic trusses with structural steel tubing??

What are you planning to store in your garage attic? I went through a similar excercise a few years ago wanting more space to store things in the garage. I had 4 sheet of 4x8x3/4" plywood cut into 2' x 8' pannels and screwed them down on top of the trusses in the attic. I did insulate between...

    Floor Slope

You should also look at "mud jacking" the low spot. The companies the do this drill through the concrete floor and pump mud in under pressure to lift the low area.

    Info/Opinions on WeatherTech TechFloor

Yes I have been talking directly to the Tech Floor people and they have been very helpful (as have the folks at Race Deck). They also have a division in Canada where I live so it would reduce the hassel associated with shipping across the border and dealing with customs brokerage fees. I still...

I'm getting close to a decision for my floor and would like to learn more about that product before I pull the trigger. Race Deck is also in the running but the comment that it will...

Floor and jack stands and welding

Get some plywood squares cut to put under the jackstands 3/4" by 12" square should do the trick. For welding look for concrete board at Home Depot. 1/4" by 4' by 4' and lay it under your work area.

    Garagedeck/Racedeck on slightly uneven floor?

If the dip is only 1/8" it should not hurt the installation but you might consider self leveling cement to fill the dip before you install the tiles. If ther is water standing and it does freeze in will cause the self levenling cement to lift over time. Good luck with the project.

    Noisy Heater Suggestions?

Hi folks, I have been lurking for a while but this is my first post.:) I had a 75,000 BTU FSA Cayenne heater installed in my 3 car garage a couple months ago. Within a week it started making a bad noise from the fan (like the bearings were shot). The company that installed it replaced the fan...
