    It's raining Snap-on / Mac tool boxes

LOL, no. It's going back on the 910/920 stack after I pull off the side handle.

    It's raining Snap-on / Mac tool boxes

I have been looking for a side box for my taco cart for almost 2 years. I finally found a KR-289 that looked brand new on eBay, and the seller was local to me. We negotiated, and I ended up paying $310. It turns out he had 2 of them hung on either side of a Mac 910/920 stack. The Mac set...

    Millermatic 211

I considered one, but ended up with a NOS/surplus 210 instead. Higher duty cycle, full size spool, room for larger tank, etc. I don't do any portable work, and I have 240v in my garage which negated the only 2 benefits of the 211 for me (smaller size and 110v capability). I have a spool gun...

Want to upgrade my crappy kiddie Radio shack soldering iron.

Used Weller or Pace MBT. WSD-81 from Weller or a PPS-85 from Pace. The Pace unit has the advantage of being able to power multiple tools simultaneously, has a vacuum pump for desoldering, etc. No need to buy a truck-brand iron that's just someone else's OEM anyway.

HF 5 hp 2stage compressors is 2 stage

A used IR, Quincy, etc on Craigslist will be a better, less expensive option with actual parts availability to ensure you can buy once in a lifetime. I bought a 40 year old T30 4 years ago. Someone had added a nice intake silencer and automotive air filter. The Baldor motor was only a couple...

    Matco vs. Snap-On Ratcheting Wrenches

I have the Snap-on reversible set (offset), the stubby/midget Snap-on set (no reverse control, zero offset), and the GW flex-head non reversible. Both SO sets, I have in metric and SAE. They are my number 1 or 2 most used wrenches. The Snap-on set is terrific and bulletproof. I prefer the...

    Toolbox shopping

Used Snap-on, Mac, Matco. For $1000-$1500 you'll get enough storage to last a long time.

Looking to replace a Stihl 440 chainsaw

An Echo CS-400 or CS-450 with minor muffler mod (core out cat) and tune will run with a number of 50cc saws. They will do it in a lighter package that's more comfortable to use all day. 16"-18" bar.

Snap-On taco cart gets a mate

TL;DR - Cause I really like them both. If you mean the taco cart, it has a lot of things I like. It's built like a tank. It may be the most robust box Snap-On has ever built. The KR1000 might have a claim on being as robust, but nothing surpasses it. The layout works really well in my...

Snap-On taco cart gets a mate

After three years of looking locally, I finally gave up, paid too much, and had a KR-650 freighted from across the country. I still have some clean up to do, but am very happy to have a nice mate for my KR-562E. I haven't decided whether to keep the old Mac top box, or sell it to recover some...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Long time lurker, figured I should start off on the right foot by posting pictures of something. ;) I don't wrench for a living, just on my toys (boat, quads, dirt bikes, Harley, etc.) Work in progress... Taco cart KR-562E and a Mac MB910 top. Bought these as a used set for $500 a couple...
