Corner Flashing - Gable Overhang and Wall

Pictures will explain my question better than words, but I'm working on a barn renovation and I started with the "lean-to" style shed roof addition. I've replaced the roof for this section and re-framed the rotted out back wall. In the process of redoing the roof, I added a 1' gable overhang to...

Renovating a Bare-Bones Shed - Wall Construction Help

That's the plan. I have a bunch of plain shiplap already so I'd like to put it to use. It's very common around here for barns to have vertical siding (whether it be board and batten, some form of lap board siding, or metal made to look like vertical siding), but of course these older farm...

Renovating a Bare-Bones Shed - Wall Construction Help

Hey Everyone: I'm working on renovating a very basic shed. It's sitting on a 4" concrete pad (no footers) and the walls are built with the base plate directly on the pad, which is flush with the exterior grade (which I largely can't change). The exterior is just painted OSB sheathing...

Got an M18 Random Orbit Sander, a 6 gallon pancake compressor, and a Kreg Accu-Cut for my birthday, so most of the Christmas list will now be various parts for my keezer build and barn renovation. Maybe a framing nailer would be useful too...add it to the Milwaukee showroom I've unintentionally...

    Dewalt Miter saw question

I have the non-sliding version if this saw. It has a 5/8" arbor with a little adapter piece to make it fit all of the universal blades. Though looking now, it looks like they're available in both a 5/8" and a 1" arbor. Seems odd.

    Hello Everyone!

New guy here with a barn restoration project incoming. I've started a thread on it in the general forum and will be updating it there. Already perused through the "what would you do differently" thread and have a list of notes of things I want to incorporate into the build. Looks like a...

Old Barn Project - Ideas and (Eventually) Progress Log

Hey everyone! Barn Album Link: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=7164 https://imgur.com/a/CJdFFAk Brand new here, but I figured I'd share my prospective project with everyone and see if anyone has tips/ideas/inspiration for me as I finish up the planning stage and get...
