I'll try that again tomorrow. That's what I did earlier and gears didn't match up. Obviously, I did something wrong!

I have studied the manual, gone to Grizzly's videos, and asked machinist friends, but no one can tell me what gears to change on the Grizzly G0752 lathe to cut Metric threads. Any assistance would be appreciated!
Thanks folks! The clockwise turn moves the cross slide away from the operator. I'll try to check the nut alignment tomorrow.
Quick question...if I'm turning the right way and the screw is aligned, shouldn't it just retread?

I am still learning the ins and outs of my Grizzly G0752 lathe. The other day as I was setting up a job, I apparently turned the cross-slide dial to far in the X- direction.
My problem is, I'm not sure how to get the cross slide back on the lead screw. I tried pulling the cross slide back with...
