Not just Snap-on. It's everywhere.
"I'm not permitted to help you."
"My manager is not in today and I don't know."
"That's not my department."
"I'm sorry I can't help you with that."
"We don't carry that."
Phoning customer service of any business is always a last resort for me when nothing...
Excellent info. It's just as well as that pawl does appear to have some wear after a second inspection. Will use the entire kit.
My dad has no memory whatsoever about the ratchet and he doesn't even remember when he last used it, how it broke, or anything about it other than he used it for...
Definitely, I'm not looking for a warranty or a replacement. I'm looking to restore the ratchet into working condition. The body is in pretty good shape with no chrome peeling. Heaven only knows where the cover plate went though, because there were boxes and boxes of junk in my dad's storage...
I've got an F720 with the guts missing plus cover plate and screws gone. I've also got an S710 works good but has one screw missing. No other parts needed for it.
I found this F720 body in a junk pile in one of my dad's old sheds.
He said he has no idea what he did with the rest of the...
Keep it coming. I've got a gallon jug of water next to me. Summer is coming quick so we gotta stay hydrated.
I'd say a couple good ratchets will get you by for the long haul, but to each his own. I'm going to order a few odds and ends for sure that I've been putting off. Rounding out your...
I've got pretty much the same design planned as this guy, just still unsure of the size. One thing I learned though is to always go as big as you can and use up all your available space. I've seen lots of guys who built shops/garages and the words that I hear the most later are "wish it could...
Amen brother. Keep fighting the good fight. It would be nice to have more discussions about the issue but it's difficult with all the nonsense that others chime in with.
One thing I've wondered about is, do you think offshore hardline tools will hurt Snap-on's business in the long run? I don't...
I'd recommend getting some spare rebuild kits for your favorite or most-used ratchets. I've got a 3/8 ratchet F720 made in canada that has the guts gone from it. Gotta get a few rebuild kits for it if I can ever find any.
Williams was one of the best industrial American tool brands period until it was bought out by Snap-on. Snap-on turned the name into a cheap Asian line of tools from Taiwan. I've also seen some Snap-on Williams wrenches made in Argentina.
"Williams - A division of Snap-on" actually means...
Wow 12 cents a pound? I would have gotten $144 with your rate instead of $48. 4 cents was actually the best rate I could find anywhere near me. All the other scrap joints within a hundred mile radius were offering 2 cents a pound, and one with 3 cents. You could go in with a semi truck full and...
Good point. From a collector standpoint I would not want to own any Snap-on tools that didn't have a COO stamp. I'm not a big Snap-on guy because I've never felt comfortable paying their extreme mark-up. The bit of Snap-on I do have would all be considered vintage I believe. I don't think it's...
I would definitely buy from Alaska. This thread is epic by the way. The number of insults is just astonishing, yet there are still informative posts here and there with some good insight and views.
The best thing anyone who is bothered by Snap-on can do is just stop buying Snap-on which has no...
