I run one in my garage, it's sealed very tight and used as a wood shop so moisture changes are not very helpful. I got mine from Amazon but Costco has them for a better price if you have one near you.

For me the shipping was $30 for the housings, I went to lowes and they actually had some fixtures on sale, that plus an employee discount brought them to $15.60 a piece so I bought those last night, bulbs are shipping to me by Monday so hopefully all goes well! :) Thank you again for the help...

That makes a lot more sense then ripping the ballast out of a working fixture :) Thank you for all the help! I think this is the way i'm going to go.

So would there be a down side to the florescent fixtures upgrade with led bulbs other then dust being able to sit on top of the led tubes? I'm really liking the idea of not having to replace a fixture when it burns out, just pop another tube in.

I'm thinking I need the dust tight enclosures, i'm looking for a regular 40w led fixture now where I could buy 8 of them for the price of 4 of the vaporproof lights($220 ish) and get the same or more lumens for the same money but i'm having a hard time finding dust tight enclosures in that price...

I just looked through your lighting layout post, man is that a lot of information to digest. If I were doing this from scratch with a bigger budget I would totally use one of your proven layouts but I don't think I want to double my budget right now, maybe down the road and I can just move these...
