BTW whole home surge suppressors exist and if you are in a lightning prone area could be the difference between saved electronics and not, for a non-direct strike nearby. These are hard-wired units.

I hung my James 225's with the S-hooks only direct on the purlins of my post-frame barn. I hung the ones either side of the overhead door tracks with chains. Parallel to the 'bay'. Still happy with them. Fairly rare that I have to break out a flashlight, even under a vehicle.

I charge my 36V Toyota forklift with a 36V golf-cart charger (as it has flooded cell batteries on board). It has an automatic shut-off and while it won't charge as fast as the big boys, it is perfect for my typical use scenario. It puts out ~25A max at 36V. I think I have 3 of these chargers...
