    Cold climate. Garage temps.

Wifey parks in the garage, and the kids toys get used year round, so I have the thermostat set to 60°F. I have radiant heat, and a thick slab, so the air temp recovers quickly after opening the door.

    Beware of buying NewAge Cabinets

I had a halfway decent experience with NewAge. I ordered through Costco because of a deal going on. My cabinets shipped in the timeframe promised, and the shipper was very accommodating in the delivery. NewAge says the cabinets will be delivered to the end of the driveway, presumably so...

    Garage lighting help

My apologies. The ceiling boxes form a 12’ square, in the 24’ square ceiling. So dimable fixtures were a thought, but I couldn’t find many, except these: https://www.samsclub.com/p/rectangular-dim-lght/prod24000289?xid=plp_product_1_4 They seem to be a discontinued model that has good...

Natural Stone Epoxy Flooring Around Garage Drain

How to finished a concrete "room" under my front porch??

Interesting. When we were building our new home a couple years ago, we almost gave this same space up to backfill. Luckily, my dad suggested we create a doorway from the basement to the space under our porch. Ours is about 10’x6’. Part of the drain tile for the basement is integrated into...

How to mitigate echos in larger shop?

I’ve seen hanging curtains that are only 3-4’ tall from the ceiling. They’re nothing more than something to break the sound wave to stop the echo. Simple, and probably cheap.

    Drilling Concrete Wall

What you have is a hammer drill. What you need is a rotary hammer drill. Night and day difference. Go rent one from Home Depot or similar, and be prepared to be blown away at the difference. Good luck. Old concrete is hard.
