    iniviate builds a gooseneck hitch

Just a suggestion if this was my rig. On a regular basis I would crawl under there and check for cracks forming on the inside corner where the plate is welded to the frame flange.

Offically fed up with my cheap HF blaster!!

    1. You may have too much sand feeding into the line. Start with the valve on the bypass line open fully and the valve on the bottom of the tank only open slightly. 2. Does the nozzle leak air when it is closed? If it does sand will continue to feed out of the tank into the hose and clog it up.

    Get em before....

The blatantly false Ebay ad is what really bothers me. These are not Snap on tools. Performance tool sells Harbor Freight grade products. Not the first time I have seen this on Ebay.

    Weighing your toolbox!

I have never had my toolbox weighed but I have had it visually checked upon leaving. The weighing thing seems kind of pointless. I have lots of rocks lying around my yard.

80 gal. compressor: Eaton or Porter Cable?

Ignore the HP rating. It is unimportant when comparing compressors. Instead look at the CFM rating at the same psi. The Eaton is 26 CFM @ 175 PSI. The Porter Cable you linked is 15.2 @ 175 PSI. The Eaton is probably more than your average Garage mechanic needs but is possibly a better quality...

Anyone have a tool truck stop at your house?

If a tool truck ever stopped at my house I would pull a gun on him and tell him to keep on driving.

Love the Knowledge of the Guys on Ebay

I am becoming more and more cautious about what I buy on Ebay. I was recently looking at used bicycles. I found exactly what I was looking for but the seller had zero feedback. I checked out his other auctions and found the exact same bicycle in a second auction. Same picture, specs, components...

    Radiantec floor heat

I have a Radiantec open direct retrofit system I installed in 2003. The Pex tubing is stapled under the floor boards and I use a standard 50 gal natural gas water heater for both home heating and domestic hot water. The system works very well, only occasionally does the water heater have a hard...

    tow dolly questions

A tow dolly has to have some means of turning, either a pivoting platform or turning wheels such as on a steering axle. A vehicle on a dolly essentially becomes a 4 wheel vehicle. Picture it going through a turn. The tow vehicle is pulling the front of the towed vehicle sideways. without some...

    Tow Dolly Questions

The pin should be in place when towing the dolly empty and when loading and unloading. Remove it when towing with a car on the dolly.

Tire Changer and Wheel Balancer - thoughts?

The upper lifting arm on the Highlift just hooks under the horizontal tube on the frame, same as you would do on a vehicle bumper. The arm has a little lip on the end that keeps it from slipping off. A little soapy water or spray silicone lube (what I use) eases working the tire off the rim.

Tire Changer and Wheel Balancer - thoughts?

I mount my own tires by hand. The hardest part is breaking the bead, once you get that done removing and installing the tire is easy with some bars. I made a tool out of some scrap metal I had lying around to make breaking the bead easier, it is used with a high lift jack. One of the best ways...

Question for you engineers or tool experts?

I still say with a beam type torque wrench the reading would become inacurrate with use of long sockets or extensions. However few people use that type and they aren't really the best kind of torque wrench anyways.
