Thank you all for the replies and assistance. I am glad I posted this as I was actually just considering tossing it. If I recall I think that’s how I came Across it when I worked for sears. A customer exchanged it for a new one and our manager said just toss it as it was too old to be fixed...

I am a former employee of Sears. Was cleaning out my attic and found this. Anybody have insight on this ratchet? Looks to be a 1/2” it also looks to be in decent condition with a little rust. Ratchet does not seem to work although I’m sure it can be fixed
