Moisture is a problem with LP.
My shop is about 1100 sq ft,sealed up and insulated as good as a typical house. I don't remember the size of my mini, but you can see the wall unit in this pic.
That small thing keeps the shop 63* winter, 78* summer. I only turn it off during Fall/Spring when...
Very nice. I've been in a 28x38 for 26yrs. Now that the kids are all married/moved out, we are down sizing the house and increasing the shop. Looking forward to a 50x80.
I don't have a problem with inside the shop when the door is opened. Car gets wet when it's first moved outside. Open/close the shop door and the AC recovers fine. Of course,I don't have the stat at 68*
IMO a dehumidifier in addition to AC is the way to go. The moisture is the biggest issue.
I never keep the shop doors open when the AC is on. Open, car out/in and close right away.
I'd say it's really just up to opinion. I prefer a 4 post for service and storage because cars don't fall off of them. 2 posts are just much less idiot proof.
Mine has been on for 25yrs. In that time, the press switch stuck and I came home to a loud hot shop. Running with the relief open. Replaced the switch and it's still on. I'm retired now and I'm in the shop everyday so not much reason to turn it off now. :)
I went with 3/8" T 111 ply in mine. Wanted kind of a rustic old barn look... and because I hate finishing sheet rock! Sheet rock on the ceiling though. Wish I had gone with some sort of metal ceiling.
I watched a buddy put a 8' 4x4 up in the bottom cord of his garage trusses and pull a smallblock AND turbo350 out of a Nova and the trusses never even made a peep. I was surprised for sure. Still wouldn't do it myself!
21" outside edge of ramp to the outside of the post, both sides. If the runways are in the wide position, 15" on the right side only.
The OP is talking about 8' HIGH doors.
The 2 vs 4 post lift argument is funny. They both work. It's personal preference, like what color car you like.
