Yours looks pretty nice. I have the same saw and am pulling it apart now. I ordered the blue tires for it off ebay. I hope they are good.
Are you planning on doing the bearings? The lower wheel bearing is an oddball. I'm debating just running the one that's in it for now, but the top I am...
I have the upper wheel bearings as they are the same as the quill bearings for the 150 drill press.
The lower on the other hand appear to be the oddball.
Federal FS-1115
Anyone know where to get these?
A few more. It's going to clean up well I think.
Oh, it did come with the pedastal stand, which is apparently a little rare. I like it as it does not take up much floor space.
I picked up a Craftsman Band Saw 103.24280 off CL for 80 bucks. Near the ocean, so lots of surface rust, but really not too bad beyond that.
Nothing special, no speed controller, no fence, but I hope to find them over time.
Here are some photos as posted.
This is one of my garage sale finds today, an old blockhead. Says Sears Roebuck on it. Pre-Craftsman?
What is the attachment? It looks like some kind of blade grinding jig.
Thanks all
You are right. I didn't mean for that to be the final setup. I have the motor / speed reduction contraption pictured above to finish up and it will go on this press.
Yes, you should absolutely show off your press. :)
I haven't flipped any yet. I'm a handle shy of a full drill press, which isn't much. (that sounds like a garage journal insult). I have 3 total in parts, but a couple of them aren't very usable for full restoration.
I think I am going to do one more restoration at least, and see what I can...
I still have the head band and a few minor things to finish up.
But here it is. I struggled a bit with deciding on a color, but this burgandy red from Lowes turned out ok I think.
I don't plan to use the motor on it here, but I had to test it out with something while I rebuild the other...
