    meter base to panel

Still kinda hard to visualize what you're talking about, I need to see pictures. I'm one of those guys who knows just enough to be dangerous. I'll probably end up calling an electrician. Thanks for the help

That makes the most sense to me. I think it is a curing compound because they put it on a day after they poured.

    meter base to panel

I'm trying to figure out how to run my conductors from my meter base to my panel. If I put the meter base directly behind the service panel, my screws will hit the panel. Can I run the wires from the meter base through the studs if I offset my panel. I can't seem to find a decent web page on...

ahh yes stuffs happenin. It'll be colder tomorrow, but I think I can get the rest of the walls up. Too bad Lowes don't stock new knees and lower backs. 02/25/06 Got the sill plates down and framed up 3 wall panels and raised 2 - The garage door panel and one left side panel. Anchor bolts aren't...

I hope to document my progress from the perspective of the absolute beginner. It should get interesting soon. I'll be wielding pneumatic nailers and such.

up to no good Those guys are installing some more anchor bolts that got left out the first time. Yeah I figured that the sealer would hinder any future paint. I'll have to do some research on that. The software is called Spycam by Bill Oatman. The program comes with a HTML start page as well...

Yeah it's pretty shiny when dry. It is remarkable though how not slippery it is when wet. I need to find out what it is, since I want to paint the floor with an epoxy paint. I'll paint the workshop area, then put some kind of other flooring in the clean room.

At this point 1. I have chosen the 32' X 24' 3 car plans from 84 Lumber. They did an estimate for a 2 car version for an all inclusive price of $5650. Doors and windows seemed a little pricey, but as a whole thought it was a deal. 2. Modified the plans to one 12' garage door, relocated the man...

    Short Slab

I did a 6-8-10 measurement on each corner, and everything looks square.

    Short Slab

I'm building a 24' X 32' garage. I just had the monolithic slab poured, and I measured what was suppose to be 32' 1" on the long side. It turned out to be 31' 11 5/8". Is this a major problem, or do I just shorten up the sills and framing measurements, and just continue on? Any good tips for...

Steel, Stick, Kit Garage Where to begin?

Project documentation I'll most certainly document and post my progress. Specifically from the point of view of someone who has never built a structure like this before. Since I work in film/video, I just might try to do some video doc as well. At this point 1. I have chosen the 32' X 24' 3...

Header requirement for 12 garage door?

All 2x4 framing with 24' trusses on a 24' W x 32'L. I'm not sure what you mean by transferred truss load. Just a simple gabled roof building. Trusses run the 24' width. Garage door planned to be on the 32' wall about 2'6" from the left corner.

Header requirement for 12 garage door?

What kind of header do I need for a 12' wide x 8' tall garage door? The wall is 10' high 2x4 framing.

Steel, Stick, Kit Garage Where to begin?

Decided to go with an 84 Lumber Kit After much research I decided to go with a 24'x32' kit from 84 Lumber. Wanted to go Miracle Truss, but was just too expensive. He gave me the old "I have a building that size in stock from a cancelled order. I can give it to you for this price today." speech...
