    Looks good, I'm going to be building one to work on pickup truck cabs, contemplating maybe just building a single sided rotisserie since it would be just a single cab and most of the weight is near the firewall.

    I've seen cranes fail where the frame collapses at the point where the hydraulic ram is attached the leverage just causes it to fold in half none of the times I've seen that had the cranes exceeded their stated capacity either.

    I just got a 2 ton Torin folding engine crane, I'm happy with it, I just used it to lift a 6 cylinder Cummins engine out of my truck on the the 1000 lb setting there was never an issue.

    How far is the detached shop? Depending on the size of the shop, future plans, and house service size, I would recommend either a sub-panel or seperate service for the shop if its of significant size, will make your life much easier.
