    ZMotorsports Shop Projects 2.0

After looking at quite a few CC and Monacos they are very much alike. I was dead set on a 2005 or 2006 CC Allure at 40' or 42'. Then I looked at a Holiday Rambler and Monaco that matched up with the Allure and found out I was much more impressed with the bay doors on Monaco products. I could...

I forgot about Premiere and Kenai. they do have some clean ones and I'm sure yours would meet their standards. For a year or so I was laser focused on finding a Country Coach. I checked Terry's site (Kenai) every day hoping to find the right one. Then I learned about Monacos and was able to...

I can tell you what's unique about it Mike. It's probably the cleanest 2003 Monaco on the planet, and definitely the most mechanically-sound. I've mentioned before that I had a 2005 Monaco Dynasty 40' with tag, really similar to yours. It didn't take me long to realize I was in over my head...

Notice the lock bolt were ground to a bevel at the end of the threads. This will prevent the bolt from mushrooming. That's a simple thing I never thought of. Thanks again for sharing all of this. I really don't need a 3rd DP but it's making me want to do another one.

    Craftsman Drill Press

When I assembled my 150 I also noticed how recessed the quill lock cylinder was, and it didn't "match" the head lock cylinder. It bugged me enough that I found a shiny washer and epoxied it to the end of the cylinder to make it look better.

I wish I'd known about your freezer and lightbulb trick. One of my 2 rebuilds gave me a lot of trouble getting those bearings on. Thanks again for good advise.

Wow, that looks like a great list I'll need to go through. I'm in the same boat when it comes to my tools, I'll be 70 in a couple weeks. I just looked at that list. You might need to attach your pictures and explanations to some of those rare tools you've built or someone's going to have some...

I sure appreciate these great tips Frank, and it's good to know that you run into some struggles with these too.

Craftsman 100 Drill Press Column Rusted In Place

I can vouch for Frank's #2 technique. I had soaked mine for about a week, then applied heat to the base, on both the top and bottom sides and that column wasn't going anywhere. A few days later I saw Frank's technique and modified it slightly. I used a BFH, or a smallish sledgehammer, along with...

I seem to be at a point where I don't need any new tools for the first time I can recall.

I'm having the same feeling as the OP but it took me 69 years and 11 months. I need to start thinking of the day to downsize my collection.

I just saw that last night. It made me think a little. It seems like every guy I know has got to the point of paying people to do things for them. I'll be 70 soon and I don't think I'm close yet. When any repairs or maintenance are done with my own hands I sleep better.

    Hello from Ohio

We have a few guys on here that are very experienced with old motors and grinders, unfortunately I'm not one of them. But if you do a search on old grinders and old sanders you'll probably come across 2 of the guys I'm talking about. One goes by the name Hoorn, and the other FrankLee. Looking...
