That'll do it. Sounds like that "contractor" was a scumbag hack. Pisses me off, they give the rest of us a bad name.

    Oil Heat Sources...Any Ceiling mounts?

I've seen plenty of those stuck in the corner of a shop/garage with plenum on top and registers cut into it.

    Oil Heat Sources...Any Ceiling mounts?

In my experience, the Modines are right on par with the Reznors, for what it's worth.

    Oil Heat Sources...Any Ceiling mounts?

Yeah, seems excessive, contractor price is probably half of that. I'm sure if you look around you can get a better deal. But, this does go to answering the OP's question as to what's available. Myself, I'd probably go with a gas fired unit in a home shop/garage...oil is a pain in the ***, but...

Based on the pictures, it looks like a piston coil to me. Hate to say it, but you might want to call a different contractor to come out and look at it. Sounds like the last guy just did a "gas and go" and ran to the next call. Not the way things should be done, but it happens.

You didn't give me enough info to make a diagnosis, but off hand, I'd say that it's either very low on Freon or the powerhead has failed on the txv. Could be a clogged drier too. If you can give me the splits across the coils and superheat/subcooling values I can help you better. And no, an...

Who knows about air dryers? Is this Hankinson worth it?

Yes, you just plug it in and let it rip. You'll need to run a line to a drain to get rid of the condensate and you might want to add a filter and oil separator as well. These things are pretty bulletproof, I've seen them run for 15-20 years with little or no maint. One brand seems to be pretty...

Would anyone care to offer an opinion on JH Williams sockets?

I went ahead and ordered a set of the six point sockets and they arrived today, so far they seem well built and they have Made in USA stamped on them, so that's a plus. Thanks for the advice, fellas.

    PROTO's big reveal 7/9/13

Same here, up until my recent experience with the ratchets...I've got wrench sets. torque wrenches, 3/4 drive socket set......never had a complaint, but those two ratchets were such **** that it just pissed me off. I've since bought all snap on ratchets and don't plan on switching back any time...

    PROTO's big reveal 7/9/13

I've been dealing with them for 20 years and only had ever had one issue...which after I called the vice-president of the corporation and flipped out on her voicemail, was resolved within 10 minutes and I was treated like a god in that store ever-after. Yeah the prices are a little high, but...

    PROTO's big reveal 7/9/13

One was a spinflex and the other was a comfort grip, similar to a MAC. The one skipped like a kindergarten gym class from new and the other was broken within a couple months. bought them for work and I don't use ratchets all that often, so it left me with a sour taste, being as I've had...
