Yes. They are hardened aluminum. They can be scratched with a knife. Cleaned em up today with a light wire brushing and they still function fine I have a few steel heavy duty clamps like this but can't imagine what you would need an aluminum one for

Sorry I'm new above is some tools I acquired in a 20 dollar pawn shop tool box yesterday and having some issues figuring out what they are for..........they are aluminum and I have seen the old alligator pipe wrenches that schick used to make but never hand wrenches or clamps.....anyone know...
