Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?

Better than the old "throw a .22 cartridge in there" trick :shocking:

Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?

Used a 6X6 plate on the floor of race car we were building as a hand support to swivel around once. My fab guy had just finished welding it in about 5 seconds before that. Nothing like searing in hours of sweat, grease, metal shavings, and Lord knows what else into the palm of your hand. It...

    Joel's Tiny 2 Car Garage

Great thread and great build! Love the creativity on the clock and especially like the old school BMX bike. I'm a BMX junkie myself and have rebuilt all of my childhood bikes except one (and that's next!).

Help me convince my (commercial) landlord to allow me to run a repair shop

Another idea vs trying to buy the land is offer a long term lease agreement in exchange for the right to do the repairs on the lot. Otherwise I'd say something to the effect of "I understand how you feel but in order to support my long term business plan, I won't be renewing my lease with you."

    Custom vinyl overlays for cabinets?

Guys/Gals, I've tried using the search feature and even Google has let me down. I hope someone can help. I'm looking for a vendor who can take photographs of my cars and create a vinyl overlay that can be applied to my cabinets. I can handle the application but it'd be a plus if they offer...

    Phatsub's mancave

I noticed that the sink is in one pic then disappears in the other. I'm guessing one pic is older than the other?

    First post, so be kind.....

Patience is a virtue :) Try using the search feature. I just tried "remove coating" and got several hits that will answer your question.

Is an Expansion Joint Needed Here?

Thanks for the info. The slab has NOT been parked on though, so I'm certain it will still settle under the weight of several cars parked on. The home has sat unoccupied this whole time.

Is an Expansion Joint Needed Here?

I don't want to hijack the OP's thread but is it ok to cut control joints in a slab that's three years old?

Best way to determine concrete PSI?

The inspection is done and there was no prior owner. The house is in perfect condition but I'm looking to install a lift at some point. I'll have them core in a corner or some other out of the way spot (there's plenty of room in there for this test). Thanks again for the tips everyone. I can...

Best way to determine concrete PSI?

Thanks for the replies everyone. The concrete in the garage certainly looks to be high quality, so I'd be surprised if it was poorly applied. I just want to ensure that I don't wind up with a hole one day where my lift and my cars used to be :shocking: I'll order up a test just to make sure.

Best way to determine concrete PSI?

I'm about to purchase a home with an existing three car garage. The home is bank owned so I'm at a loss as to how I can determine this without testing. I'd like to install a two post lift in one of the stalls but obviously I have a challenge ahead if the concrete isn't up to par. The home is...

    What does IIRC mean?

I remember having that same question years ago when I started contributing to forums. I've made a habit now of just typing the acronym in question in google and I normally get a hit on the definition.
