Installed gable vent fan, and now my shop is......

Yes. There are 2 garage doors 16' and 8' 3 4x3' windows, and a man door. I keep the garage doors opened depending upon the outside temperature. In the evening, I can adjust the 3 windows to regulate the airflow coming in. I'm going to test having the fans come on as the sun rises and sets during...

Installed gable vent fan, and now my shop is......

I installed these on each end in the gable. https://www.homedepot.com/p/QuietCool-2940-CFM-Smart-App-Controlled-2-Speed-Gable-Mount-Attic-Fan-AFG-SMT-PRO-3-0/314262943. It dropped the humidity 20% in less than 2 hours. When I go into the shop in the morning, the shop is as cool as the outside...

Installed gable vent fan, and now my shop is......

I don't need to cool the entire place. I have a 9x8' insulated office that I have a portable AC unit. It was given to me. :-) I just want to draw some of the hot air out of the top portion of the shop to drop the temp a bit. I usually have the large door opened while I'm working on projects...

Installed gable vent fan, and now my shop is......

Shop is 38x24. front has 16x10' and 7x8' doors. 1 side has 2 3x4' windows, other side window and man door. And yes it is a dry heat. I can usually handle it, but on days when I don't go out early in the morning, it is hard to handle.

Installed gable vent fan, and now my shop is......

Just bought 2 Quiet Cool attic fans for my 900sf shop. I don't have a finished ceiling, but walls at 13' high. I tested with my thermal camera on a 12' a-frame ladder. It was about 10 degrees difference between bottom and top step. I'm trying to make sure the fans will help. I'm in the foothills...

Upgrading Shop Lights and Light Switches to WiFi

I have a addon to my browser called Camelizer. It shows the prices over time. I've noticed in other Prime Days, the price mysteriously goes up right before so the "sale" price is the same as it was say the week before. I always try to shop used. Even with the 11-25% sale prices now, I still got...

Upgrading Shop Lights and Light Switches to WiFi

Late reply but, I have been slowly getting all my smart switches and plugs converted to Kasa. They are part of TP-Link and work much better than Wemo. I just ordered another batch to complete my shop electrical. I've even found they have a combo dimmer motion sensor...

New house wanting 400A service for future shop - load breakdown help

I don't think I will be able to run the 2-2-2-4 through the attic now. Vaulted ceilings and other issues. Now I'm thinking of running underground from the shop then up to the 8 foot roofline under the soffit. There is a 1x4 trim that runs all the way around. I've been trying to find out what...

New house wanting 400A service for future shop - load breakdown help

I'm thinking of the same thing. I have 2 homes on the property and just built my 900-square-foot shop. My main home has 400 amp and then it breaks out 200 to my in-laws 1,000 sf home. I'm planning on pulling 100A from the in-laws, they only use AC and a heat pump, the rest is the TV. I've...

Insulation and attic fan recommendations extra large Tuff Shed

I'm located in the foothills of the Sierra in Northern California. Temps range from 30-102. I'm looking to insulate and ventilate. The shop is 24x38 with 13' walls of 2x6s. The roof pitch is 5/12. I plan on building an 8'x10'x8' corner office that will have portable A/C and heat. Being from...
